Client

US-based innovation incubator focused on transformative technologies was looking to scale their business across the Products & Programs team and the in-house Venture Studio.

Scope

To recruit and hire a range of candidates from Manager through VP level across an array of functions including Strategy, Program Management, Design, and Investor Relations to support the rapid growth of these areas of the business after the organization closed its series B funding round earlier in the year. The aim was to fulfill a minimum of 3 hires within the first quarter of the year.

Solution

Once the scope was established and timelines agreed, we decided upon a managed subscription campaign. We jointly developed a storyboard, marketing campaign (for talent purposes and employer branding online), go-to-market narrative and assistance with structuring the approach to candidate selection and assessment. We crafted a marketing plan, search approach, and, once approved, carefully mapped the market for individuals who fit the exact briefs.

Eastward managed a full subscription model approach to the search involving market mapping and candidate targeting. We conducted a managed approach to interview and screen a suitable longlist, and develop a shortlist of candidates for the client to interview for each role.

Result

Eastward Partners successfully appointed 5 hires during the initial 3 months of the subscription engagement including a VP, Products & Programs, 2 Program Managers, a Design Strategy Lead, and a Sr. Director of Capital Formation. The project cost was managed as a subscription fee per month, with a remainder fee paid out upon successful completion and onboarding of the candidates.

  • 45 candidates shortlisted

  • 25 candidates progressed to 2nd round of interviews

  • 5 successful appointments

The client was tremendously pleased with the outcome of the subscription campaign and ultimately came back to the team for 2 more hires across the organization.
